Hi, I am Hugh May-Perry a steampunk artist based in the UK

The Steampunk Entomologist

In the heart of the Victorian era, amidst the clatter of steam engines and the hum of scientific discovery, a young artist named Hugh  found himself captivated by the delicate beauty of insects. He spent countless hours in museums, poring over glass-encased specimens of butterflies and dragonflies, their wings shimmering with iridescent hues.

Hugh ‘s fascination with these creatures grew into a deep passion, and he began to see them not just as mere insects but as intricate machines of nature. He was particularly drawn to the intricate patterns on their wings, the delicate veins that branched out like the finest filigree.
Inspired by the burgeoning field of steampunk, Slowly but surely, Hugh ‘s creations began to take shape.

He crafted mechanical butterflies and dragonflies with iridescent wings that shimmered with
every movement, their bodies a marvel of engineered beauty.

Hugh ‘s creations were not just works of art; they were also a testament to his deep love and respect for the natural world. He saw the beauty in the smallest creatures, and he sought to capture their essence in his own unique way. As word of Hugh ‘s creations spread, he became known as the Steampunk Entomologist, his artistry and imagination a focal point for those who shared his fascination with the intersection of art, science, and the fantastical. His mechanical insects became symbols of the Victorian era’s spirit of innovation and its enduring fascination with the mysteries of the natural world.
